The Cave of Cats is part of a medieval site in Roscommon which I featured in a previous Substack (CLICK HERE)
The Cave of Cats is believed to be where Samhain (sow-ween) originated.
This start to the Celtic New Year is when the veil between the worlds is believed to be thinnest and it evolved into Hallowe'en.
In Irish mythology, the Cave of Cats, is a portal to the Otherworld. It features in several tales of the Gods and Goddesses of Sacred Ireland.
It's open to the public. Contact Rathcroghan Visitor Centre for a guided tour.
Not for the claustrophobic.
No drone needed.
